Trained as an architect, Brazil-based Romulo Temigue is a multidisciplinary designer whose work spans lighting, furniture, graphic design, and photography. Romulo is drawn to the fantastic, always seeking to turn ideas born of his imagination into tangible shapes. Inspired by seminal figures such as Ettore Sottsass and Philippe Starck, Romulo’s work prioritizes unusual forms and colors to create otherworldly but functional objects that are useful, long-lasting, and never-before-seen.

What matters most to you when designing a light?
Playfulness is the main goal. With lights, I can play with luminosity. I love that about lights.
What do you wish there were more of in the design world?
I wish for more boldness and crazy Designs. A more dynamic design thinking in general. We already have the "basic", let the crazy come in.
If you weren't working as a designer, what would you be doing?
Probably working in music. Since Design is the "visual feeling" of the arts, I guess music is the "sound feeling" of the arts. I love to use music when I'm designing. It makes my head burst into creativity.
